Our Opportunity

The Accounts Processor is required to process in accordance with established procedures, accounts payable, receivable and purchase orders using the departmental Financial Management Information System (FMIS) and under general direction undertake a range of routine administrative tasks in accordance with established guidelines and procedures.

In undertaking this role, l will support the department and small portfolio agencies by:

  • process accounts payable, receivable and purchase orders using the departmental FMIS
  • manage the FMIS inbox daily to process exceptions in a timely manner
  • maintain the Accounts & Invoices electronic inbox in Outlook
  • perform Collector of Public Monies (CPM) duties, including treasury functions
  • provide advice to portfolio agencies
  • maintain Customer and Vendor records
  • investigate and advise on system performance
  • extraction of reports
  • assist in the development, and implementation of policies, strategies, systems and procedures in respect of the operation of the unit and to make sure the unit remains compliant with the Governments payment terms to small business
  • liaison with staff at all levels and with external agencies and suppliers
  • operate keyboard and computer facilities, and
  • performing other financial and administrative duties as required.

Specific requirements of the role:

  • knowledge of accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing processes
  • sound knowledge in the use of financial systems for accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing functions
  • sound knowledge of policies and procedures associated with accounts payable, accounts receivable and purchasing
  • demonstrated high level of accuracy in work.
